Ingredients

Oatmeal

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup from Canada
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Maple Fried Banana

  • 1 large banana, cut into circles
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup from Canada

Other Toppings (Optional)

  • Peanut butter
  • Walnuts
  • Hemp seeds

Method

  1. Heat the coconut oil and maple syrup in a large non-stick skillet on medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and add the banana slices. Cook on each side for 2-3 minutes until caramelized, then set aside.
  2. Bring the water and almond milk to a boil in a small saucepan, then reduce the heat to low and add in the oats, maple syrup and cinnamon. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oats are soft.
  3. Pour the oatmeal into a bowl and top with the maple fried bananas and optional other toppings.
